LECTURES

I believe education is continuous. I talk regularly with university audiences and general public about my work and its traditions. Main lecture topics include:

  • Sources and Trends in the Music of Israel, an outline of the development of the art music of the new Israel.
  • The Composer in the Mirror of His Time and Place, an introduction to my work from the "Mediterranean" period of the mid-50's through the experimental 60's to my latest works.
  • Sounds and Images, an illustrated discussion of music and the visual arts as reflected in my various works, related to paintings by Picasso, Chagall, Kandinsky, Dali, Klee, Da Vinci, El Greco, Magritte, et al.
  • Music in The Bible and The Bible in Music, an illustrated lecture on the various aspects of music as reflected in the holy scriptures and a selection of music masterpieces based on Biblical topics.
